The visit held significance for the governor, as it was the fulfilment of a long-held desire connected with his late parents
Tripura Governor N Indrasen Reddy visited the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya on Thursday to offer prayers and have a darshan of Ram Lalla. The visit held significance for the governor, as it was the fulfilment of a long-held desire connected with his late parents.
Reddy expressed his emotional connection to the visit, stating, “In Ayodhya, I’ve been trying to have a glimpse of Lord Shree Ram for many years. My father and mother came during the time of Ayodhya’s ‘kar seva’ (temple construction service), but they couldn’t reach here. They are no longer in this world, so I have come to offer prayers on their behalf,” he said before offering prayers.”
The Ram temple in Ayodhya has been a site of great religious and cultural importance to millions of Hindus worldwide.
Earlier, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Wednesday visited the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. and called it a place of peace.
Khan, who had a darshan of Lord Ram in the temple, said that he keeps coming here as he comes from the neighbouring region of Bahraich.
Before his visit, the Kerala Governor at the Ayodhya Dham airport told ANI, “I keep visiting Ayodhya. In January, I visited here twice before the Pran Prathishtha on January 22. I am a neighbour from Bahraich, so I keep coming here. I have come here before also but now I will get a chance to have a formal darshan. It feels great to be here and it gives me immense peace. The entire country has celebrated this (Pran Pratishtha).”
The Ram Mandir was opened to the public after Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22, which was attended by top sportspeople and celebrities.
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir has been constructed in the traditional Nagara style. Its length (east-west) is 380 feet; width is 250 feet and height is 161 feet; and is supported by a total of 392 pillars and 44 doors.
The pillars and walls of the temple showcase intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, Gods, and Goddesses. In the main sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor, the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram (the idol of Shri Ramlalla) has been placed.
