In a collaborative effort by Khatkhati Police and CRPF, yesterday night a significant breakthrough was made in Kali Ram Basti locality near the four lane road under Khatkhati police station of Bokajan subdivision.

In the operation five individuals were arrested for possessing illegal firearms and ammunition. The registration number of the Bolero vehicle is NL-07-CB-8179was intercepted based on prior information.

During the search conducted by police inside the vehicle, they uncovered a 9mm Beretta pistol along with three magazines and 43 live bullets. The arrested individuals, hails from Nagaland and Morigaon District of Assam, were found in possession of these illegal weapons.

The successful operation underscores the relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating criminal activities in the region. Further investigations into the matter are currently underway to ascertain the motives behind the possession of the firearms and to unravel any potential links to larger criminal networks.
