Through the heart of Bengal a storm brews fierce,
Cyclone Ramel’s whispers now loud and clear,
In the Bay of Bengal coolly it gathers might,
Bringing winds and rain through the endless night…
The skies grow dark, clouds twist and roar,
As nature’s fury sweeps the dry shore,
Kolkata braces for the worst as alert is nigh,
With each fleet of gust, the tempest cries…
Ramel’s fierce power it’s a wild dance,
Rains fall heavy in a circular trance,
From Parganas to Medinipur’s gate,
The land prepares to face its fate…
Trees uprooted and homes torn apart,
Rivers rose to brim and bridges depart,
Fields submerged while crops laid low,
The wrath of Ramel’s a deadly blow…
Electric lines down as darkness spreads,
Families huddle in fear all widespread,
Roads erased and the paths unknown,
Ramel’s cyclonic wake, all is overthrown…
But now the rains have splattered the plains,
Everything green, lush in their gains,
Listen Ramel, why the prior heat and the sweltering pain?
Living beings, hapless in the extremes you sustain…
Ramel replies, “Did you have pity on me,
When the sea at 27°C should be free,
Your misdeeds raised it to humid thirty,
Global warming isn’t your felony?”
“You trespassed nature’s law, I didn’t remain behind,
I was born as Ramel from your greed and kind,
Humans, you thought you were too supreme,
Now see who’s mightier in this nature’s scene…”
“I’ll calm down only after a good landfall,
Learn a lesson from me, heed nature’s call,
I do good too, purifying and provoking,
Revoke your thoughts about nature, it’s no joking…”
Yet within the storm, there lies a calm,
A reminder of nature’s double-edged charm,
For in its wake, the earth again renews,
Life will bloom where destruction flew…
We must take a lesson from cyclone Ramel,
Rein in the global warming, put an enamel,
To safeguard our future, let’s lift the veil,
And work together, so nature will prevail..
