Jiribam district admin starts temporary schools

Textbooks and notebooks for the students have already been provided

Jiribam : In its continuous efforts to provide relief materials and essential items to the displaced people in relief camps, the district administration Jiribam under the supervision of DC Jiribam, Krishna Kumar today distributed grocery items, LPG cylinders and other daily needs to the inmates of Relief camps.

Departments such as PHED Jiribam have been providing drinking water to the relief camps regularly while routine health check-ups of every individual in the relief camps are done every day by the doctors and medical staff of CHC Jiribam besides providing sanitary kits to the relief camps giving more focus on the health and hygiene of the inmates.

ICDS project has also been providing supplementary nutritious foods, especially to the children regularly. In addition, the district administration today provided stand fans to the relief camps to cope with the warm weather conditions.

Considering the importance of keeping the surroundings of the relief camps neat and tidy, the Jiribam Municipal Council has been cleaning the premises of relief camps regularly.

Notably, the Zonal Education Office, Jiribam has set up a temporary school yesterday at Bidyanagar Multipurpose Sports Complex and resumed classes for the displaced students from class 1 to 8 numbering 98 students with the posting of 1 headmaster and 23 teachers.

Textbooks and notebooks for the students have already been provided. Similar temporary schools will also be set up near the relief camps as and when necessary.
