The tragic incident took place around 1 AM on June 11, when two unidentified assailants dig an opening below the fence to entry into Tissopi’s home. One of the intruders entered her room through the opening made at the rear of the house and shot her in the head, resulting in her death.

On Friday, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Diphu, Jayanta Baruah, addressed the media regarding the arrests at the Diphu police station.

There is proof of their involvement in the killing of Tissopi. As the investigation is continuing, the names of the arrested persons will not be disclosed as of now.”

The suspects were presented before the District Judicial Court and will remain under police custody for four days. “They have been arrested as suspects, and the current investigation may lead to further arrests to uncover the primary perpetrators,” Baruah added.

The community remains on edge as the investigation continues, with authorities working diligently to ensure justice for Hukuri Tissopi and her family.
