The images of attached documents available at the National Archives show that 500 Kuki refugee families arrived in Manipur from. Burma (now Myanmar) towards the end of 1967. The number of refugee families increased to 1500 in 1973 when the then MP from @INCIndia Shri Paokai Haokip wrote to Sri K C Pant, the then Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India.
How did the then Central Government under the Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi rehabilitated these refugees in Manipur and granted Indian Citizenship with voting rights? The NDA govt under @narendramodi ji must make a thorough investigation on such anti-national acts of the then @INCIndia govt and make the report public.
Manipur was converted to a haven for Kuki refugees with a free movement without permission or restriction extending 25 miles on both sides of the Indo-Burma boundary and the then Congress govt at centre ever ready to provide the Kuki refugees citizenship and voting right. This is the real root cause of the #ManipurViolence
Will @RahulGandhi ji and @INCIndia ever apologize to the Nation as the policies of the successive Congress governments at the centre and in Manipur have directly resulted in the present violence?
This acknowledgment and apology will help any govt including the present @BJP4India led governments to address this “serious issue” that has become a huge challenge for Government of India.
