Imphal : In a major security operation, combined forces in Manipur have recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives across five districts over the past 36 hours.The targeted districts included Churachandpur, Chandel, Thoubal, Kakching, and Imphal West.
During the operation, the teams seized three improvised 12 mm single barrel guns, one 9mm pistol two improvised range heavy mortars and ammunition.
Details of the Operations:
Churachandpur: A joint team of Assam Rifles, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and Manipur Police conducted successful operations in Dampi Ridge, Khaukual, and Bijang areas, recovering the aforementioned weapons.
Thoubal and Imphal West: Teams involving the Manipur Police and Border Security Forces conducted searches in Thoubal and Imphal West districts, verifying the identities of over 270 people and searching more than 120 houses.
Kakching: A combined force of Kakching district police, Assam Rifles, and Border Security Force conducted searches in Wabagai Lamkhai, examining over 120 people and searching over 30 houses.
Chandel: While no arrests were reported, security forces conducted operations in Heibunglok and Ringphe villages.
All recovered items have been handed over to the relevant police stations for further investigation and legal proceedings.
