Addressing the media in Itanagar, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma expressed gratitude for the concerted efforts that led to the safe evacuation. “The coordinated actions of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, the Ministry of External Affairs, exporters, and the district administrations in border towns have been instrumental in ensuring the safety of our citizens,” stated Sangma.

During a two-day tour in Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, alongside his brother James Sangma, celebrated the success of the National People’s Party (NPP) in the recent assembly elections. Conrad Sangma, who also serves as the President of the NPP, felicitated the five NPP MLAs who emerged victorious in the elections.

Despite some setbacks, the NPP secured a significant foothold, becoming the second-largest party in Arunachal Pradesh with a 21% vote share across all 60 seats. “Our party’s emergence as a significant force in Arunachal Pradesh is a proof to the hard work and dedication of our candidates and supporters,” Sangma said.
