KARIMGANJ : In a chilling and tragic incident that has sent shockwaves across Assam, a man brutally killed his parents in North Karimganj. The incident took place on August 10, where the accused Abdul Haleem allegedly entered his family home and attacked his father, Abdul Salem, with a sharp weapon.

According to initial reports, when Haleem’s mother, Badrun Nessa, attempted to intervene and save her husband, she too became a victim of her son’s violent rage. Haleem attacked his mother with a sickle, leading to the immediate death of both parents on the spot.

In a disturbing turn of events, after committing the heinous act, Haleem reportedly recited verses from the Quran and posted the recitation on social media before fleeing the scene. This act has left the local community in shock and disbelief.

The police were promptly alerted and arrived at the scene, where they recovered the bodies and sent them to Karimganj Civil Hospital for post-mortem examinations. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, but the motive behind the killings remains unclear at this time.
