Peace and Development Coordinating Committee on June 28 had alleged that Rayja MP Bhabananda misused his local area development funds for Khundrakpam constituency, amounting to 50 lakhs. Three days after the allegation, the MP and deputy commissioner of Imphal east made a clarification, claiming that the funds were allocated for Wakha village instead of Khundrakpam. In contrary to their claims, Wakha Youth Club and Wakha Women Development Association on July 5 denied the claim saying they did not receive any such facilities as stated by the deputy commissioner and the Member of Parliament.
