There is a miraculous and mysterious temple which has many mysteries
The temple of Lord Shiva appeared here as Chandrasekhar and is located about 1300 feet above Chandranath Hill in Sitakunda Upazila under Chittagong District in Bangladesh.
From the temple of Chandrasekhar, on the way to Virupaksha Temple, one can reach Patal Puri Kali Temple ( Reverse Underground Kali Temple) by going down the road for half a mile on the east side.
There’s a cold stream ( Locally called Patalpuri Jhiri) that flows around the mountain here. Its water is very cold. Next to it, there is a big Shivlinga which is made by cutting stone.
In the midst of this, there is a miraculous and mysterious temple which has many mysteries. If you enter this inaccessible Patalpuri temple through the hilly winding path, you will get the mother’s sight or darshan. Mother is present here in the form of Reverse Underground Kali (Ulto Patalpuri Kali).
It is said that the mother herself appeared here. Devotees believe that not everyone gets to see the awakened Kali Statue located in this mysterious mountain hollow. Only the lucky ones can come here. Also, special permission from the Forest department is required to come here.
The inverted Kali Vigraha inscribed on the stone block is self-evident. This hundred-year-old idol is upside down and scattered in places where there is a danger at every moment.
Contrary to popular belief, the temple of Patalkali Ma is revealed as such about 50 thousand years ago in the early Satya Yuga.
Mahiravan, son of Pati Ahiravan, was brought to this place for sacrifice. At that moment, Mahabir Hanuman at the instructions of Mother Bhadrakali, on the contrary, Patalkali sacrificed Mahiravan.
Chandi Yajna was performed before killing the Asura in Satya Yuga. And in that Chandi Yajna, the God used to sacrifice and worship.
According to mythological sources, this place is believed to be the residence of sage Bhargava. Besides Patalpuri, there are temples of Hargauri, Ashtavasu, Mandakini Gopeshwar Shiva and other deities.
People do not easily visit this place due to its dangerous nature. This temple is many centuries old.
Meanwhile, many devotees and visitors have alleged that various immoral activities are being carried out at the place with the help of some members of the temple management committee.
Chittagong’s Pandurik ISKCON temple chief Chinmoy Krishna Brahmachari alleged that about 3,000 acres of land of Chandranath Dham in Sitakunda has already been grabbed by some influential quarters.
