On World Press Day, we celebrate the power,
Of words and stories shared every hour,
From breaking news to thought-provoking prose,
Journalists bring us stories, highs and lows…

They shed light on dark corners we’d never see,
They expose truths, corruption, brutality,
They give voice to the voiceless, who otherwise,
Would be silenced and forgotten, unseen eyes…

They investigate, ask tough questions, dig deep,
They hold those in power accountable, don’t sleep,
They capture moments, emotions, life’s essence,
They tell us stories that offer hope, presence…

So on this day, let’s thank the press,
For taking risks, working hard, not less,
For keeping us informed, connecting our minds,
For shining light on the world’s hidden binds…

We need them now more than ever,
Their role in our lives, we should never severe,
For if we silence their voice, we must fear,
That our world would be darker, with no light near..
