Namaskar!

Hindi Divas is celebrated every year on the 14th of September. On this day we celebrate the national language of our country. This day is mainly celebrated in the northern part of the country. People wear Indian ethnic clothes on this day.

Hindi Divas emphasise the importance of our nation’s national language. The Hindi language is spoken by millions of people in our country.

In schools and colleges, organises Hindi debate, poem, or storytelling competitions. Cultural programs are also held and the teachers give speeches to emphasise the importance of the Hindi language. Many schools host inter-school Hindi debate and poetry competitions. Inter-school Hindi essay and story writing competitions are also held.

This day marks the declaration of the Hindi language as the official language of our country by the constituent assembly of India in 1949. The first Hindi Divas were celebrated in 1953.

Hindi is the fourth most spoken language in the world after English, Spanish, and Mandarin.

I feel very proud and comfortable speaking in Hindi.

Jai Hind!
