This is not a problem to be solved but it is a virus that needs to be removed from our society

Anwesha Dey

This is the name of a disease that is not a physical one but a sociological or mental one. 80% of the people in India suffer from this disease. And you know what, this disease has no doctor, medicine, or even yoga to improve or cure it. It can be cured only if we change our mentality towards others.

The people suffering from this disease have a tendency to judge people even if no one asks for their suggestions, point of view, judgments also. But they are in a hurry to give it or criticize someone in a simple sense. You know the time when you criticize others or say dirt about others it is ultimately coming to you itself.

I really sometimes become confused about those people I really don’t understand what fun did these people get by gossiping, teasing, and backbiting others. They have always been there to discuss your look or the way you talk, behave, or in one sense to discuss your every action. These people think every day about you more than you think about yourself. They think they are the judge and other people are the convict.

Even these kinds of people don’t know about someone personally but just by hearing anyone’s words about them, they started judging them. They behave if they know you more than yourselves which is impossible. It is possible that people can know about your bad habits or nature but to know about someone more than that person is impossible.

This is not a problem to be solved but it is a virus that needs to be removed from our society. It cannot be done by others, the person who is attacked by this virus can only fight against it and defeat it. Others can only give suggestions or advice on how to fight against it. The people suffering from this disease have a special disorder they by seeing someone’s cloth, behaviour thinks they knew the character of that person and started giving comments on their character.

The symptoms of this disease are -:

1. Passing judgments

2. Interfering in someone’s personal life unnecessarily

3. Being curious to know about someone’s personal things even if that person doesn’t like to tell you anything about it.

4. Passing cheap and dirty comments.

5. Giving character certificates

6. Gossiping about that person.

The reason for the disease are -:

1. No work to do

2. Have a lot of free time

3. Nature of too much curiosity

4. Insecurity and jealousy.

5. Lack of self-curiosity as instead of knowing about others’ life you should know about your life.

Some ways to get get rid of the problem -:

1. Turning the mind to do something useful.

2.  Building a habit to read useful books, interesting stories, travelogues.

3. Engaging free time in listening to music, practicing art, dance, creative writing (composing stories, poems, songs, essays, etc).

4. Sparing attention to nature ( trees, plants, birds, animals, rivers, hills, etc), night sky.

5. Exploring new places; walking, cycling, boating along.

6.  Doing or joining social work that benefits poor/needy people.

7. Avoid discussion on useless criticism of others, irrelevant questions, interference with others’ choices.

8. Developing interest in many favorite sports, music, passions, personal development.

Though how to recover from it I have given some solution, I think trying it will help and moreover it’s now high time we should stop all these negative stuff as everyone has a personal choice you have no right to question the person about it. And everyone who is suffering from it, I hope you will try to change your behaviour as you are not the judge and we are not convicts…

Be curious, but about yourself, as it matters… If you believe, then say yes!
