KRC Foundation a NE based diverse consulting organisation working in the field of media & communication, training & development, entrepreneurship development and organises various events has launched North East India Writing Star Contest on September 8 on the occasion of International Literacy Day.
The contest is being restarted post COVID-19 pandemic by the organisation. KRC Foundation earlier had also undertaken such contest in 2018-19.
The objective of the contest is to encourage writing skills among students, youths, working professionals, home makers as well as facilitate senior citizen a platform to express themselves.
‘We want to spearhead a movement and encourage people to ‘write’ in order to express as well as develop a skillset which is always in demand’, said Biswadeep Gupta, Managing Trustee of KRC Foundation and founder of 5E for Success philosophy.
The contest is for a period of three months from September till 31st of December 2023. The selected articles will be published in KRC TIMES platforms subject to the decision of the editorial board. Those whose article will be selected and published in KRC TIMES, such participants will be then competing within their states for selection in the final round of the contest. The state wise competition will be held from 1st January to 31st March 2024.
One participant can submit articles multiple times within the campaign time, i.e. from September to December 2023 and for state level competition between January to March 2024. For the final round the selected participants will be declared on 15th April and they shall get opportunity to submit their articles (multiple entry by one individual is allowed) between 16th April 2024 till 30th April 2024.
The contest is divided into 5 categories, A- Class- VI, VII, VIII; B- Class- IX, X, XI, XII; C-College & PG Students; D- Working Class & Home maker; E- Retired & Senior Citizen (60+).
Top three from each state under each category will be ultimately competing in the Final round which will be scheduled from 16th April to 30th April 2024.
12 Top contestant from each category will be competing in the Grand Finale. The Grand Finale will be conducted live tentatively on May 12th 2024 and shall be based on topics given by the Editorial Board. The result will be declared on the same day. In an event in July 2024 (date to be declared on May 12) the winners will be felicitated by KRC Foundation.
The articles submitted will be judged on five different parameters, namely- style of writing, originality, topic chosen, error free, plagiarism.
The competition will be held in English language only. The entry is free and no participation prizes will be awarded except digital participation certificate and publication of articles in KRC TIMES.
