NCHAC CEM unveils the statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose
Haflong : Celebrating the 126th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, one of the most revered freedom fighters, the chief Executive Member, N C Hills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa unveiled the bronze statue of Netaji at Haflong in presence of huge gatherings on Monday.
CEM Debolal Gorlosa graced the occasion as the chief guest while Chairperson, NCHAC, Ranu Langthasa, Executive Members Ratan Jarambusa, Samuel Changsan, Nojit Kemprai, Bijit Langthasa, MAC and Chairman, Haflong Municipal Board, Monjit Naiding, MAC Liton Chakraborty, MAC Iswari Prasad Jaishi, PS(N) M Kemprai, SP Mayenk Kumar attended as the guests of honour.
The day’s program started with the lighting of the lamp followed by the unveiling of the statue, hoisting of the flag, and declaration of the birth time of Netaji. Speaking on the occasion all the speakers dwelt a brief life sketch and contribution of Netaji in the freedom fight and appealed to all to follow the footprints of such leaders with respect who have done such sacrifices for our Nation.
CEM Gorlosa in his speech highlighted how the present governments under the leadership of Modiji and Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma have been trying to give due respect to our leaders who sacrificed their lives for the Nation. He appealed to all to respect our leaders and not allow anyone to disrespect our leaders.
Earlier, Chief Guest and VIPs were felicitated with ‘uttariya’ by the organizing committee.A spectacular procession was also taken out from the Cultural Institute Hall with the beautifully decorated portrait of Netaji marched through the major parts of Haflong. Hundreds of people including students took part in the procession.The organizing committee offered heartfelt thanks to the CEM of NCHAC Debolal Gorlosa for the respect
shown to the great leader Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose which would be the first ever life-size statue of Netaji being installed in Dima Hasao.
