Each of the 14 Boards under SEDP is chaired by a State Minister
Socio-Economic Development Policy (SEDP), the flagship program, of Mizoram that was launched this August by the Zoramthanga Government which has fourteen different boards could get its offices in record time with the Chief Minister of Mizoram on 1st November inaugurating the offices of the 14 boards at the Secretariat Annex-II Building in Treasury Square, Aizawl.
The Chief Minister said that the SEDP aims to be an exemplary development policy for other northeast states in development of the social sector as well as economic sectors, citing the recently launched state healthcare scheme as a precursor to other developments to come in the future. The Chief Minister reiterated that the SEDP is not a dole but rather a policy to facilitate different development works, projects in line with the SEDP guidelines, which the boards will execute and monitor. The SEDP guidelines emphasize equity in economy and welfare.
Each of the 14 Boards under SEDP is chaired by a State Minister.
Vice-Chairman, Health & Family Welfare Board, Dr. Z.R. Thiamsanga, while expressing his gratitude to the government for establishing office spaces for all 14 boards in a short time. He spoke of the various works to be taken up by the boards and the need of public support and cooperation for successful implementation of their policies.
In the inaugural function Dy. Chief Minister Tawnluia, Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana, Dy. Speaker Er. Lalrinawma, Law & Judicial Minister T.J. Lalnuntluanga, Sports Minister Robert Romawia Royte and the various Board Vice Chairman, Board members, councilors from AMC and others were present.
