GUWAHATI : Despite its humble beginnings, “Techniche” now boasts of being one of the largest Techno-Management Fests across India. Techniche 2023, to be held from August 31st  to the 3rd of September, will be the 25th edition of the fest, which marks the silver jubilee edition, much to the anticipation of the college community.

This edition of Techniche would witness the lights of eminent personalities of a wide spectrum of fields like Ehud Olmert (Former Prime Minister), David Straily (CEO, Brinkbound Games & Former Product Director, Valorant), David Orban (Managing Advisor of Beyond Enterprise), and  Mohit Tyagi (Director, Competishun).

Gear up for glory -Robotics:

No technical fest is complete without robots. The robotics module of Techniche draws interest from engineering enthusiasts across the nation. As Techniche introduces events like Aquawars, Robowars, Escalade, IDRL, Track Titans, Sky Sprint, and Micromouse this year, the standards have been elevated.

Aquawars is one of its kind event, happening first time worldwide, wherein bots will fight in the administrative lake of IITG. Experience the blend of cutting-edge tech and fierce competition with Robowars. Also, don’t miss the thrill of night drone racing in collab with IDRL debuting at IITG during Techniche. TechOlympics is a module with several unique competitions that will test your abilities and allow you to compete against top contenders from throughout the country. Funniche stands true to its name and adds a fun element to the fest. Starting from ESports such as Valorant, BGMI, and chess, and moving towards fun games like Paintball, Football Tic Tac Toe, and many more, Funniche has it all.

Initiatives:

Like every year, Techniche 2023 is giving back to society through a plethora of social initiatives. We organized the Guwahati Half Marathon 2023, a running event organized to promote better social and human interaction amongst the residents in and around Guwahati. One of the largest events of its kind to be managed entirely by a student body, the marathon has evolved coherently over the years since its inception in 2009 to become the largest student-organized marathon in India.

This year the marathon witnessed the participation of over 2500 people from different walks of life to come and spread their cognizance and sense of concern for a better society. The 13th edition of the marathon was successfully organized on 9th April 2023 with its theme “Run for Zero Hunger”. The theme is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2, which aimed to end hunger, achieve food security, and improve nutrition worldwide.

As a part of the silver jubilee celebrations, we will conduct a blood donation camp, fitness camp, and mental health workshop among other initiatives.

Inspiring Young Minds – Technothlon:

The International School Championship conducted by Techniche started in 2004 with the vision of inspiring young minds. With this year’s edition alone reaching more than 1000+ schools, Technothlon has greatly spread its wings all over India.

The prelims round of Technothlon successfully held on 23rd July 2023 held the most creative and pinnacle test of logical thinking, where the Top 50 students secure the amazing opportunity to visit IIT Guwahati to compete in the 2nd stage, Mains.  Through a series of events involving mental aptitude, logic, and dexterity, Technothlon seeks to provide school students a platform to build fundamental experience and knowledge, exercise coordination skills, and think out of the box.

After the Sunset – Pronites:

With every sunset that marks the end of another day at Techniche, we start with the next chapter, the Nites. Get ready to experience performances that leave you awestruck. Welcome to the Proshows at Techniche, the place to rejuvenate with a spectrum of technical performances, visual shows, standup comedians, and bands, that are sure to leave you wanting for more.

The Techniche Team has a three-tier structure comprising entirely of the student population of IIT Guwahati. The heart behind its conduction is its Organizers, second-year bachelor’s students who take up small responsibilities to build the fest from the ground up.

The pillars which keep the team intact, working year-round to create three days of excellence, are the Core Team members of Techniche, who are essentially students in their third year at the Institute. Lastly are the Heads of the fest who buttress the entire team, motivating them towards the flawless execution of months of planning and ideating.
