On “World Day Against Child Labour”, the Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani while speaking at the inaugural session of National Consultation organised by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) on Wednesday said that there was a need to devise modules to encourage public participation to enhance rescue operations.

While speaking on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for “Rescue and Rehabilitation of Child Labour” she emphasised on a “humane approach” to dealing with the problem of child labour.

She shared on her tweeter handle late Wednesday evening “ As the World Day Against Child Labour comes to an end, I’d like to share that under PM @narendramodi ji’s leadership, India was one of the only 14 countries which met the new criteria for ‘Significant Advancement’ in eliminating worst forms of child labour in the year 2017.”
