Mayor said the PWD Department will repair the road soon as already an amount of Rs 9.5 crore has been sanctioned for this road


Agartala: Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder has taken a special initiative to keep low-lying areas of the city free from waterlogging. He has instructed the cleaning and repair of all the drains and roads of the areas prone to water logging before the arrival of the rainy season.
On Tuesday, he personally visited areas of ward no 41, 44 and 51 where water get stranded even after minor rains. People said that the road from Medda Chowmuhani to Rabindra Nagar is the worst sufferer. They said even after a short spell of rain water gets stranded on this road. Mayor said the PWD Department will repair the road soon as already an amount of Rs 9.5 crore has been sanctioned for this road.
He said in Pal Para, a road and drain are being constructed with Pever Block. In addition to that several other development projects also has been undertaken in the area. Corporators Uday Bhaskar Chakraborty, Sushanta Bhowmik, and Aditi Bhattacharjee also was with the Mayor during the visit.
