Ananya Garikipati, An Indian Rhythmic Gymnast Bags Silver and Gold Medal

The 16-year-old Ananya is a Grade XI student of Ganges Valley School in Hyderabad won two medals, one Gold, one silver medal and three special prizes during the two-week-long competitions in Moscow in the third and fourth week of May.

Hyderabad: The female sportspersons are equally talented and deserve cheers and appreciation just like male sportspersons. The sportswomen are excelling in their respective fields and bringing laurels for the nation.

The 16-year-old Ananya is a Grade XI student of Ganges Valley School in Hyderabad won two medals, one Gold, one silver medal and three special prizes during the two-week-long competitions in Moscow in the third and fourth week of May.

With these achievements of Ananya and efforts helped her in raising the Indian flag in Moscow. Thus, Ananya become the first Indian rhythmic gymnast to win these medals in Moscow.

At the competition, she has also bestowed the special award special for her excellent routines and brilliant apparatus handling in in the Junior Star Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship. Ananya celebrated her 16th birthday during the tournament, she was happy to receive the special prize on her birthday and it made it more memorable for her.

When Ananya is in Moscow she is trained by 2008 Olympic champion Anna Gavrilenko. “The training is extremely hard but fruitful at the end. She is really blessed to be trained by an extremely humble Olympic champion,” Dr. Padmaja, whose daughter is a Grade XI student of Ganges Valley School.

“Ananya performed some elements which were intricate and mostly done by the Russians. The crowd cheered so much that it’s going to ring in my ears for a very long time to come.” a beaming Padmaja, who is an ophthalmologist, said.
