Employees of the Water Resources department Manipur are denied their monthly salary for eleven months since the finance department is confused about which of the two chief engineers of the Water Resource department should the salary be transacted to.
Appealing the concern authorities to clear the confusion so that their salaries can be release, employees working under the department as work charge, master roll and home guard sat in protest on Thursday at the premise of the department at Imphal.
Briefing the media during the protest, the general secretary of All Manipur Water Resources Department Employees and Workers Organisation, L. Bimolchandra Singh told reporters that they did not receive their monthly salary from the month of September last year even though the finance department had already sanctioned their salary for eight months.

However, the fact that the water resource department has two chief engineers instead of the norm of having only one chief engineer, is preventing the finance department to deposit the funds meant for the salary.
