Arms and ammunition recovered in Manipur

Imphal : Huge arms and ammunition have been recovered from various sensitive areas of the ethnic violence that hit Manipur, official sources said on Tuesday. Several weapons including two 303 Rifles, one 51mm Mortar, one tear gas gun, 17 smoke candles, three CM Mag, three tear gas rounds, nine tear gas (hand grenades), 332 rubber bullets, four 12 Bore Rifles, one Muzzle loaded Rifle.

These weapons have been recovered by a combined team of 27 Assam Rifles, Indo Tibetian Border Police, and Churachandpur police during a search operation in the Lanja-Khodang area of Churachandpur district on Monday.

Manipur police control room report said that search operations were conducted by security forces leading to the recovery of nine firearms. The operations were organized at Mualngat, Terakhongsangbi, Gothol, Pholjang, and Kwakta Ward No.8 after exchanges of fire between the security forces and armed miscreants on Monday.

Notably, the ethnic violence between the Meiteis and Kukis started on May 3 and over 160 individuals lost their lives. Over 4000 weapons have been looted/snatched from different police stations/outposts so far.

  1. This is very alarming and disturbing! Isn’t RAW and Govt of India unaware of this?! I don’t believe! I shall urge Ministry of Home and External Affairs Ministry to seriously probe it!
    Head of Myanmar Govt and its Ambassador must be called and give a hard briefing!
    Mr @amitshah Ji must take a quick action! And more importantly, what is the make of these arms and ammunition!
    If not Govt of India but Bharat shall not tolerate it!😡🤬
