ITANAGAR, Sep 06: The Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on third day sitting of its twelfth session unanimously adopted a government resolution on “Celebrating the historic success of the Chandrayaan-3 Mission” by voice vote.
         

Moving the resolution on the floor of the house here on Wednesday, Science & Technology Minister Honchun Ngandam stated that the state assembly commended the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for its tireless efforts and proudly joined the nation in celebrating the historic success of Chandrayaan -3 Mission to the Moon.

On behalf of the government, he extended heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated scientists behind this monumental achievement, which not only marks a triumph for the space agency but also signifies nation’s global progress and prominence.

He informed that the state assembly welcomed designating 23rd August as “National Space Day” to commemorate the momentous occasion.

“Landing near the Moon’s South Pole with precise accuracy is a remarkable feat in itself, showcasing the indomitable spirit of our scientists and the data collected by the ‘Pragyan’ rover promises to advance knowledge and unlock mysteries on Moon’s surface and beyond”, the Minister stated, adding “in an era of technological advancement and innovation, Bharat’s scientists are beacons of knowledge, dedication and expertise and their commitments propelled the nation to the forefront of global scientific achievements”.

Congratulating the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership and unwavering support for Bharat’s space program, Ngandam told that the assembly also takes pride in the substantial contribution of women scientists to Chandrayaan-3’s success as it would motivate the aspiring female scientists in the years to come.

He also informed that the state government has welcomed the naming of two moon points – Tiranga point ( Chandrayaan -2 foot print) and ShivShakti point ( Chandrayaan – 3’s landing site), symbolizing our rich heritage and scientific aspirations, adding that the success aligns with PM’s call for ‘Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan and facilitate opportunities for Bharat’s start-ups, MSMEs and job creations, besides promoting innovations.

“The state assembly echoes PM’s emphasis that knowledge gained from Chadrayaan-3 will benefit humanity, especially in the global south, exemplifying Bharat’s belief in ‘Vasundhaiva Kutumbakam’ and its achievements in the space sector reflect progress, self-reliance and global leadership signifying the rise of New Bharat”, the minister said, while exuding hope that the feat will inspire more youngsters towards scientific pursuits.

Khonsa East MLA Wanglam Sawin, who was the lone participant to speak on the resolution, congratulated the entire nation, PMO and ISRO members & scientists for successful launch of Chadrayaan -3, terming it as a great achievement and a great day for the people of the country.
