Eight new badminton court coming up for aspiring shuttlers in Arunachal Pradesh.

Arunachal Pradesh started its first edition of Capital Complex Inter-Club Badminton championship on Friday 12th July 2019, at Namphong. The MLA cottage badminton stadium at Itanagar represented eighty vibrant shuttlers from five different badminton clubs at the said tournament. 

 While addressing the gathering MLA Simai encouraged the sportspersons for taking up such steps that would cultivate a disciplined nature which is the basic element in one’s own life.

He further expressed that sports are the way to build a holistic perspective in everyone’s life. The state would further give provisions for meritorious sportspersons in reservation policy. The State’s present government there committed to its people to provide more avenues for deserving sportspersons.

Capital Badminton Club (CBC) president Toko Chada expressed that such avenues would be an arena to encourage and showcase the hidden talents among the youngsters and have more participants in the next edition.

Bamang Tago, Secretary Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA) congratulated the Capital Badminton Club (CBC) for launching this tournament for catering to the budding shuttlers. Such platforms should become a benchmark for those individuals and their teams who would be getting a direct entry into the Dorjee Khandu Memorial State Level Badminton Courts next year. Hence they should not take it lightly. He further announced that eight new Badminton courts would be coming up shortly in the state.

A cash prize of Rs 1lakh for the winner and Rs 60,000/- for the runners up would be awarded, followed by a beautiful championship trophy on the final which is on Saturday 13th July 2019.

Arunachal State Badminton Association further felicitated umpires Modi Nilling and Pema Ladon who has recently completed the Grade II examination by the Badminton Association of at Karnataka.
