She warned the mothers not to spend time on mobile unnecessarily rather they should tell stories of our past rich history to their children in their mother tongue. Also said, neither Government nor even teachers are responsible for the preservation and protection of our mother tongue, we the guardians and mothers are responsible to teach our children their mother tongue.

Asom Sahitya Sabha Vice President Mrinalini Devi appealed to all mothers irrespective of caste, creed, and language to encourage their children to learn their mother tongue right from their very childhood.Stressing on child education in their mother tongue, she said mothers can play a pivotal role to teach their children their mother tongue through telling folk stories of rich Indian history and spirituality even when they are in the mothers’ womb.

Vice President Devi was in Dima Hasao to attend the special organizational meeting of Haflong Branch, Asom Sahitya Sabha on Saturday at Haflong adjacent to the Haflong Namghar.

The meeting was organized by the Haflong Branch of ASS with Bobita Engtipi, President, Haflong Branch in the Chair while Mrinalini Dev, VP ASS, Ranu Langthasa, Chairperson, NCHAC, Nazreen Ahmed, DC, Swapna Kalita, Convener, ASS and Dhiren Sarma, noted literary person attended as the guests.

Mrinalini Devi and Dhiren Sarma while hoping better tomorrow for the Haflong Branch of Asom Sahitya Sabha discussed various aspects for the betterment of literature, culture, etc with the collective participation of people from various communities of Dima Hasao.

Earlier, all the guests were accorded a warm welcome and felicitated with beautiful ‘phulam gamosa’ in presence of huge gatherings.

Talking to the media ASS VP Mrinalini Devi said she was here for the first time and was overwhelmed with the love and respect of the people and also the beauty of Dima Hasao. She said she would be very happy to stay for more time at Haflong but she has to rush for another meeting.
