Assam candidates crack UPSC with flying colours

Dr Mayur Hazarika—a resident of Tezpur topped his batch by bagging the 5th position

Guwahati: Many candidates from Assam have cleared the coveted Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination with flying colours—the results have been declared on Tuesday.

Dr Mayur Hazarika—a resident of Tezpur topped his batch by bagging the 5th position. He is a doctor by profession and completed his MBBS from Gauhati Medical College Hospital. Hazarika is working for national health mission sources said.

Another candidate from Assam – Mohammad Idul Ahmed – also cracked the UPSC exam securing 298th  rank.  Ahmed is a graduate in Mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Guwahati.

Manas Jyoti Das, also from Assam, cracked the exam securing 881st rank. Simanta Buragohain, Anjali Bharadwaj (271), VS Vaiphei (619) and Nivedita Das (848) all hailing from Assam have also cracked the UPSC examination.
