Urge our youths to take farming as a mean of self employment

Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal stated ‘we have formulated a policy to attract private investors in poultry production in Assam to commercialise the sector and create employment opportunities in rural areas. I urge our youths to take farming as a mean of self employment by adopting modern technologies’.

Sonowal made this remarks while attending the National Livestock & Poultry Show 2019 in Guwahati along with Union Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries Shandilya Giriraj Singh and Assam Minister for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry.

Agri-experts and progressive farmers from across the country are showcasing modern and scientific methods of farming in the show. Workshops, training sessions are also being held to impart latest agri-technologies to Assam farmers in the event.

An exhibition was inaugurated which will provide necessary information about animal husbandry & poultry and showcase modern feed equipment, technology. Sonowal echoed that the event would showcase Assam’s potentialities in animal husbandry sector and go a long way in strengthening rural economy & achieving the goal of making Assam self-reliant in poultry production.
