Both the INC and ASDC resolved to desist the force that tends to negate the autonomy of the Hills Autonomous Council

The Indian National Congress (INC), Dima Hasao District Congress Committee and Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASD), Dima Hasao District Committee has agreed to work together in the ensuing Assam Assembly Election 2021 as an alliance stated both the president of INC and ASDC Nirmal Langthasa and Manjit Karigapsa in a press meet held at Hotel Nothao on Sunday.

Both the INC and ASDC resolved to desist the force that tends to negate the autonomy of the Hills Autonomous Council and also feel that under BJP rule there is a great threat upon the Hills tribes living of Assam.

The deliberate attempt of the BIP to dilute the provisions of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India by the implementation of Gaon Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) and the abolition of Hills Areas Department (HAD) despite strong protest from the stakeholders speaks volumes on the nefarious design of the incumbent government towards the Hills Tribes. These are some of the glaring examples of the BJP to weaken the 6th
Schedule Provisions.

Indian National Congress (INC), Dima Hasao District Congress Committee and Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC), Dima Hasao District Committee also reiterate to work for the implementation of Article 244[A) i.e Autonomous State (a state within State of Assam provision) which is a long pending demand of the Hills People of Assam and appeals to all the citizens of Dima Hasao to support the INC Candidate in 16-Haflong(ST) Legislative Assembly Constituency.
