The Governor reportedly reviewed the progress of various schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi among others in Cachar district
Silchar: Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria who is on his maiden visit to Barak Valley reached Silchar on Monday and took stock of all the prevailing flagship schemes of both the state and Central governments. Kataria will be touring Barak Valley for three days, official sources said.
Interacting with the media following his meeting with the officials of various departments at the conference hall of Cachar deputy commissioner Kataria said, “The infrastructure of railway and roads in Assam has improved a lot in Assam. There has been a significant improvement in law and order as well.”
The Governor reportedly reviewed the progress of various schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi among others in Cachar district. “In the next six months I will try to other districts of Assam to review the progress of the ongoing projects” Kataria said.
Later Kataria accompanied by Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy and Cachar deputy commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha visited National Institute of Technology (NIT) and Assam University and interacted with both the students and their faculty members over there.
