A Joint meeting of N.C Hills Indigenous Student Forum and National Highway Authority of India was held under the chairmanship of Alok Kumar, Regional officer at Regional Office Guwahati recently.

After a prolonged discussion NHAI authority agreed upon that the blacktopping of Nrimbanglo to Mahur Railway Station tunnel bridge, repairing of all the potholes/damages between Mahur – Jatinga and Jatinga-Miyungkro, and maintenance of S Curve will be taken up at the earliest.

Devid Keivom, President NCHISF informed that the NHAI would immediately start the maintenance balance works of NH-54E Pkg No AS 21 between Miyungkro-Harangajao portion with Blacktopping, Drain and culvert, etc. also the NHAI affected compensation.

Keivom further said regarding the replacement of Mahur Town Bridge into Concrete the RO informed that the PWD Department is to submit the proposal under PMGSY but gave assurance that if the PWD Department doesn’t take up the matters NHAI will take up the work.
