Continuing its efforts to extend a helping hand to the needy, Sajik Battalion Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles handed over 8 solar street lights to six villages of Kana Valley area, Chandel District of Manipur on April 16 under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme 2018-2019 under the aegis of HQ IGAR SOUTH.

The solar street lights were distributed in a well-attended ceremony with Kathung Village, Paldai, Twilelon and Chakhap village receiving one each while M Lebanon and Khollen Khelet village received two each.

It was launched after it was felt that electricity was the most critical requirements in the far flung areas.

The distribution of solar lights has made a dramatic difference in the lives of many but has also given them a sense of security during hours of darkness and enabling them to conduct various ceremonies after sunsets.

The ceremony was attended by many villagers and has expert heart felt gratitude towards the Assam Rifles for their endeavour which has made a position impact to the lives of the villagers.
