AR and tribals clear a massive landslide
Imphal : Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) rescued 27 stranded tribals and provided critical support in restoring road connectivity post landslide along with the villagers of Mapum village, Ukhrul District of Manipur bordering Myanmar on the east, an official source said here on Wednesday.
In a remarkable show of solidarity, Assam Rifles personnel and local villagers joined forces to swiftly clear a massive landslide that rendered the main road impassable, the source said. Utilizing JCB equipment and collaborative efforts, this joint initiative not only restored vital connectivity but also showcased the power of community resilience.
The successful clearance provided safe passage to 17 families including 13 men, 10 women, and 04 children & rescued villagers getting stranded alone at midnight. Such effort highlights the strength that emerges when communities and armed forces work together for a common cause, the statement added.
