20 thousand wellness centers will be completed by the end of the current year under Ayushman Bharat programme.

The Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan stated in Hyderabad that a total of 1.5 lakh wellness centers will be established in the country under this programme.
Addressing scientists and officials of CSIR laboratories Dr Harsh Vardhan termed the Ayushman Bharat programme as a successful model in implementing universal health.
He asked them to work in a proactive and out of box manner to reduce sufferings of people, especially of those with rare and genetic diseases. He had asked the scientists to work in a more focused manner so that the results of the research can reach out to the people.
