Minister gave his consent regarding demands initiated by the pressure group for the establishment of Angioplasty facility in SMC&H by October this year
‘Thousand Sayantans’ the socio-pressure group working in the field of improvement of health infrastructure of the region, based in Cachar today visited Pijush Hazarika, Miniter of State, Health and Family Welfare where they held a discussion regarding various deficiencies being faced in Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH)
During the discussion, the Minister who is camping at Silchar gave his consent regarding demands initiated by the pressure group for the establishment of Angioplasty facility in SMC&H by October this year and materialization of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) prepared by the SMC&H team.
They also had a conversation regarding the shortage of ICU beds in Silchar to which the Minister committed that 40 numbers of ICU beds shall be newly introduced within the next twelve days in SMC&H.
The members of ‘Thousand Sayantans’ informed that Hazarika has indicated that he intends to devote himself whole-heartedly for the people of Barak Valley and urged the recovered COVID-19 patients to voluntarily come forward and donate plasma/blood for the sake of society. Only then humanity and mankind can survive through these tough times.
Also, ward-wise screening centres have been arranged for and people are being requested to get themselves tested voluntarily at a nearby centre, urged Minister Hazarika.
