Permission for holding Durga Puja and time slot for immersion will have to be obtained compulsorily by the puja committees and families without which no immersion will be allowed to take place

The Cachar district administration has made mandatory for all puja committees as well as for families who hold community puja at home to obtain necessary permission and time slot for immersion of deities. 

In an order issued to this effect here on Thursday, District Development Commissioner cum CEO District Disaster Management Authority, Jessica Lalsim stated that permission for holding Durga Puja and time slot for immersion will have to be obtained compulsorily by the puja committees and families without which no immersion will be allowed to take place. 

The order stated that permission for the areas falling under the Silchar Municipal Board, the Silchar Development Authority and the Borkhola Police Station will be issued from the Offices of DDMA and the Deputy Commissioner. 

Similarly, for Udharband Police Station areas, Udharband Circle Office will accord permission while Lakhipur Circle Office for Joypur Police Station areas, Lakhipur Police Station and Jirighat Police Station areas.

For Dholai Police Station and Kachudaram Police Station areas, Sonai Circle Office will issue permission while for Katigorah Police Station areas, Katigorah Circle Office will issue necessary permission.
