The current men’s 100m world record of 9.58 s is held by Usain Bolt of Jamaica, set at the 2009 World Athletics Championships final in Berlin, Germany on 16 August 2009.

Indian record in the same event was 10.30. Anil Kumar Prakash completed 100 m sprint at the National Circuit Athletic Meet held in New Delhi in 2005.

Few numbers of sprinter across the world completed 100 meter within 11 seconds. Modern technology-equipment, higher level coaching are very much needed in this event.

Apart from this costly diet is a big factor for the sprinters.

But when you come to know  that a person from a poor family, without any scientific practice and diet, even without sprint shoe has completed 100m sprint within 11 seconds there will be curiosity and hope.

A 19 years young man from India is doing this in a regular basis. Rameshwar Gurjar from Madhya Pradesh running 100m in just 11 seconds in  different local compititions.

He is already an internet sensation when his video of running 100m in just 11 seconds went viral. While it is not an official time, but there is no doubt about his speed.

The original video was shared by former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. It caught the eye of none other than our Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, who took on the responsibility of handling the athlete’s training himself.

Here’s what he had to say, and also check out the speed of the person in question in the video.

There may not have been anything official about the lap ran by Gurjar, with the only proof of his 11-second timing being the length of the video.

After seeing this video Central Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju is clearly impressed.

Madhya Pradesh former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday night wrote in his tweeter handle,  “India is blessed with talented individuals. Provided with right opportunity & right platform, they’ll come out with flying colours to create history! Urge @IndiaSports Min. @KirenRijiju ji to extend support to this aspiring athlete to advance his skills!”

Rijiju responded to Chouhan’s tweet minutes later, promising to look into the matter.

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh sports minister Jitu Patwari had reacted to the video by saying: “With proper training and gear, he can complete 100 metres in 11 seconds.” The minister had also invited Gurjar to state capital Bhopal.
