BSF and Cachar Police seize drugs worth three crores in Silchar

BSF Mizoram and Cachar Frontier have seized a total of 5,37,070 Yaba tablets since Jan’2023

The BSF, in its drive against illicit trafficking of Drugs and Narcotics, on October 6in a Joint Operation BSF with Cachar Police intercepted one Maruti Swift car in the general area of ISBT Ramnagar, Silchar. On checking the vehicle, the Police recovered 30,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs. 3,00,00,000/-(Three crore)  and apprehended two Indian drug peddlers. 

The apprehended persons were identified as Majibur Rahman, 33 years, driver of the Swift Dzire Car, s/o – Habibur Rahman, of  village Bagarkuna, Tarapur, Silchar, and Sohanul Alom, 22 years old, driver of Pulsar Motor Cycle, s/o- Shabuddin Laskar, of Pechhadan, Tarapur, Silchar.

The seized items along with the apprehended drug peddlers handed over to Police Station Tarapur, Silchar by the joint operation team for further legal formalities.

It is pertinent to mention that BSF Mizoram and Cachar Frontier have seized a total of 5,37,070 Yaba tablets since Jan’2023.
