Urges people to donate blood voluntarily to save people’s lives
SILCHAR : As a part of Cachar District Day celebration on 13th June and on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day on 14th June, Cachar DC Rohan Kumar Jha inaugurated voluntary blood donation Camp in presence of Supritendent of police Numal Mahatta at Assam medical service association house of SM Dev Civil Hospital, here on Monday.
With the slogan “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often” DC Rohan Kumar Jha urged people to come forward with the great duty of donating blood to save people’s lives. While sharing his reaction DC Jha said “As a part of Cachar Foundation Day celebrations on June 13, a Voluntary blood donation camp was organized at the Civil Hospital on Monday as part of various programs so that people-to-people relations can be developed and people from all walks of life can be made aware and feel proud about this project”.
DC Jha mentioned that for the first time in Cachar,the residents will get all information and details about the historical importance of the district, the importance of this civilization built along the Barak River through various programmes ,which will be organised by the district administration .
DC Rohan Kumar Jha also thanked Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatta and BSF jawans for participating in the program and said that as part of district’s day celebrations, a clean-up drive will be started from Capital Point on tuesday morning, and a theme song also will be unveiled on district’s day at 11am and requested the media persons to attend the program . Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatta also gave a relevant speech on the occasion at the blood donation camp.
it’s worthy to mention that 42 BSF jawans and district Police personnel donated their blood and 46 units of blood were collected by various health workers including in-charge,Blood bank ,SMC&H , Dr. Rajib Biswas and assistant professor of SMC&H , Dr. Aniruddha Debnath at the blood donation camp on the occasion.
