Imphal : The Manipur Congress outlined a five-point action plan for to bring in normalcy in the state of Manipur.

They strongly urged the confinement of cadres of the militants under Suspension of Operation (SoO) at their designated camps, ensuring the protection of Manipur’s territorial, administrative, and socio-economic integrity; taking immediate action against poppy planters, financiers, and drug lords; implementing relief measures promptly and initiating the identification and deportation of illegal immigrants within a specified timeframe.

These were outlined by Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Vice President Hareshwar Goshwami in a media interaction at Congress Bhavan on Thursday. Stating that the current scenario of the state is full of terror and commotion which has never been witnessed in Manipur.

Attacking the Chief Minister of the state Goshwami echoed that it is the negligence of Chief Minister Biren Singh in dealing with Churachandpur tension after the torching of an open gym which was scheduled to be inaugurated by the CM and was vandalised on April 27 which was the flash point of violence in the state.

Goshwami also highlighted the presence of People’s Defence Force (PDF) militants in the state who had penetrated the porous Indo-Myanmar border after Myanmar crack downed on the Myanmar based militant group who are involved in narco-terrorism.
