Bhanu Jayanti, the birth anniversary of the great poet and writer is celebrated with great cultural and literary fervour by the
Nepalese people all over the world. In Sikkim, too many people from all communities, irrespective of caste or creed, take part in the festivities related to Bhanu Jayanti re-affirming the communal harmony that exists among the Sikkimese people.
Bhanu Bhakta Acharya also known as ‘Adi Kavi’ has made an invaluable contribution to Nepali literature and the crucial role that he played in bringing Nepali literature to the forefront. His greatest work has been his translation of the ‘Ramayana’ from Sanskrit into the Nepali language.
