Commissioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) (Candidate Set) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs) in respect of Imphal East District was held at DC Office Complex, Porompat from 9.30 a.m. onwards today.

The Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) supervised the commissioning process in the presence of designated agents of candidates contesting in the 1-  Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.

The commissioning process for four ACs, namely, 6-Keirao, 7-Andro, 14-Yaiskul and 15-Wangkhei was held at Panchayat Bhavan, DC Office Complex, Porompat. While the commissioning process for six ACs, namely, 2-Heingang, 3-Khurai, 1-Khundrakpam, 8-Lamlai, 4-Khestrigao and 5-Thongju was held at Gymnasium Hall, DC Office Complex, Porompat.

A Mock Poll was conducted to ensure proper functioning of the machines.

Second Randomization of EVMs and VVPATs through EMS 2.0 of 432 Polling Stations of 10 Assembly Constituencies for use in the ensuing 18th General Elections to Lok Sabha Elections, 2024 in respect of Imphal East District was held at Kombirei Hall, DC Office Complex, Lamphelpat, Imphal West from 9 a.m. onwards.

A training to enable collection and delivery of Postal Ballot for Absentee Voters were also held at SIRD Hall, DC Office Complex today. Thirty Polling Teams consisting of two polling officers, a videographer, a micro-observer with half-section of Armed Security Personnel were also constituted for paying home visit and also for collection and delivery of Postal Ballots. A training for Micro-Observers for use in respect of Imphal East District was also later held at the same training hall.
