In a major blow to Congress in Manipur, party member Hemochandra Singh resigned from the primary membership of the party on March 31 citing ‘lack of faith and confidence’ on the party.

 In a letter to the president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, Singh wrote, “I would like to convey through this letter my complete lack of faith and confidence with the Indian national congress anymore. Therefore I tender my resignation from the primary membership of the party as well as all other posts which I have been holding so far with immediate effect”.
