Ahead of the election Karbi Anglong district Congress suffered a setback, as a large number of its supporters joined BJP in Daur-Amla Member of Autonomous Council constituency in West Karbi Anglong district and in Diphu town.

Vice president of the West Karbi Anglong Congress Committee Bijoy Teron, and member Joyram Khorai and other seven members of Congress joined the BJP. Besides, forty five diehard supporters of Congress also joined the BJP yesterday.

All the newcomers were welcomed by the Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang, in presence of sitting member of Lok Sabha Horensing Bey; MLA Dorsing Ronghang; BJP MP candidate Amarsing Tisso and other senior leaders.
