Haflong : The constituency wise ten days summer workshop on Drama, Satriya Dance, Lok Katha-traditional dance, poem recitation and debate competitions ceremonially began here at Haflong government girls’ higher secondary school on Saturday.

The inaugural function was attended by the Laringdi Naiding, Asstt. Commissioner, Pauramduing Jeme, District Cultural Development Officer, P.Barman, Principal, government boys higher secondary school, and Samir Mazumdar, Principal government girls higher secondary school including teachers from other nearby schools and students.

Speaking on the occasion Laringdi Naiding Asst. Commissioner Dima Hasao said that the program is organized as part of vacation to promote and increase participation in extracurricular activities among the students in their area of interest in culture and tradition.

The ten days program is being held from 15 to 24 July which is organized by the Department of cultural affair, Govt. of Assam.

At Maibang, Biplobjoy purkayastha, Asstt. Commissioner, attended as chief guest while Sujit Kr Sinha, Principal – Degree College, Ashok Kr.Langthasa, Noresh Khersa, Gaon Bura Damadi Hawar etc Sujala Bodo, Principal M. H.S. &host attended as Guests of hour.

A good numbers of students took part in competition at Haflong and Maibang.
