The Delhi Government has decided to pay the Boad exam fees of class X and XII students. The cabinet decision has left the Delhi govt to bear a burden of Rs 57 crore to lesser the burden of around 3.14 lakh students

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Examination fee of Class X and Class XII students of government and government-aided schools including taken over schools and Patrachar Vidyalayas will be paid by the Delhi Govt. The scheme will be implemented from the current session ( 2019-20).

The Department of Education’s proposal has been approved by the Cabinet, in its meeting on Wednesday chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The cabinet decision will make Delhi Government to bear a burden of Rs 57 crore to reduce the burden of around 3.14 lakh students.

Earlier the CBSE had increased the examination fees for classes X and XI, registration fees for classes IX and XI and migration fees. The fees for general category students for classes X and XII were doubled from Rs 750 to Rs 1,500 for five subjects.
The Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students, who were paying Rs 375 earlier, will now have to pay Rs 1,200 for five subjects.

Under a special arrangement in the Capital, these students were only paying Rs 50, while the Delhi Government was paying the rest of the amount as subsidy.

No fee shall be collected from students on account of CBSE Board Exam Fee. The fee paid by the govt includes the fees payable towards Practical Exams for Science stream and Vocational subjects opted by students of Class XII.
