309 armed cadres of Dimasa National Liberation Army will surrender before the authority after scrutinizing the dependability of Assam government : Chairman DNLA

Under the leadership of Dimasa National Liberation Army C-in-C Mungsri Mushrang Dimasa along with 46 members of DNLA laid down arms in presence of ADGP special Branch Hiren Nath, Deepak Kr. Kedia, IGP (L&O), Assam, Chief Executive Member, NCHAC, Debolal Gorlosa, Deputy Commissioner, Paul Barua at Khepre 100 km from Haflong Headquarters of Dima Hasao on Saturday.

They deposited Ak 3nos, M16 1no, 303 2 nos point 22 1nos, point 22 pistol 2nos.

The Dimasa National Liberation Army’ after declaring unilateral ceasefire for six months on September 7, three apex leaders of the outfit immersed before Assam cabinet Minister for Education, Ronoj Pegu with tender of peace parley in their inhabitant Daugifung located within the general area of Dhansiri, Karbi Anglong.

Dimasa National Liberation Army’s Publicity Secretary Mungsri Ringsmai Dimasa through a press release issued on September 7 declared a unilateral ceasefire for six months paving the way for peace.

Itika Difusa, Chairman of the organization at that ceremony informed the media that around 309 armed cadres of Dimasa National Liberation Army will surrender before the authority after scrutinizing the dependability of Assam government.

ADGP Hiren Nath said, “Today a total of 46 cadres of the DNLA surrendered their arms. The DNLA was active in Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong and was involved in some untoward incidents.”

Talking to the media NCHAC CEM Debolal Gorlosa said the NCHAC welcomed the laying down of Arms by DLNA who have agreed to maintain strict observance of all the agreements of the ceasefire. This is a positive step towards greater stability in Dima Hasao which was in our shared interest. Ushering peace and prosperity upon the people is their highest priority and he, on behalf of the people of Dima Hasao extend his gratitude to Chief Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, his Cabinet, Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI, Officials, DC Office, Assam Police and all Socio-Cultural organisations for their joint effort in bringing this ceasefire.

Organisations like Jadikhe Naiso Hosom, All Dimasa Students’ Union, Dimasa Students’ Union, Dimasa Jalai Hosom, Dimasa Mothers’ Association, Dimasa Gaobura Association, Dimasa Muzari Association, Dimasa Public in Dima Hadao District will also welcome them in a homecoming ceremony at Khepre on Saturday.
