Haflong : The 9th International Yoga Day was observed throughout the district of Dima Hasao on Wednesday with great enthusiasm. At Council Complex,   Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa and his family participated at the Yoga session along with the DHAC Chairperson Ranu Langthasa, his team of Council Executive Members, MACs, and Officers of both normal and entrusted departments, clubs, NGOs, health enthusiasts and general public.

Principal Secretaries, council secretaries and all officers and staff were also present. Yoga competition was organized among all the Executive Members and MACs. Executive Member Prajith Hojai adjudged as first. The CEM announced 25 lakh for construction of a yoga centre in Hajadisa constituency as reward to EM Hojai.

Distribution of prizes to the winners of the District Level Yoga Competition under a category of 35 years and above held on 20th June, 2023 organised by Dist. Health Society, was also done during the programme. At N.L.Daulagupu Sports Complex:  Assam Minister for Power, Cooperation, Sports & Youth Welfare etc Nandita Gorlosa along with Member of Parliament, Autonomous District (ST) Parliamentary Constituency.

Deputy Commissioner Simanta Kumar Das, ACS, Superintendent of Police Mayank Kumar, IPS, ADCs, Officers and staff of different departments, District Administration and Police Administration, school teachers and students participated at the session. 

Prize distribution was also done to winners of the District Level Yoga Competition under the category of age group 10 to 18 years and 18 to 34 years held on 20th June, 2023 organised by the District Health Society.
