Diphu : Diphu has been included in the map of India’s F M radio station; if all goes well the Diphu F M station will be on air from Friday. Prime Minister of India will virtually inaugurate the facility ceremoniously along with minty one other FM station across the nation including five stations in Northeast India including the Diphu FM station.

The ceremony will be broadcast through All India Radio and TV channel at 11am sharp. The Diphu F M station has been housed in the compound of All India Radio Diphu, Matipung.

It is worthwhile to mention here that FM broadcasting is the technique of radio dissemination using frequency modulation. The technique was invented in 1933 by American engineer Edwin Armstrong, wide-band FM is used worldwide to transmit high-fidelity sound over broadcast radio.

The difference is in how the carrier wave is modulated, or altered. With AM radio, the amplitude, or overall strength, of the signal is varied to incorporate the sound information. With FM, the frequency of the carrier signal is varied.
