Karimganj :  In a shocking incident at the Ramakrishnanagar Primary Health Centre in Karimganj, Dr Surjit Roy attacked SDM&H Dr Bidhanchandra Biswas and his wife while they were sleeping in their quarters. The attack, which occurred today, has left Dr. Biswas seriously injured and undergoing treatment.

The assailant, Dr Roy, used a surgical knife during the assault, causing significant blood loss to Dr Biswas. The motive behind the sudden and violent attack remains unclear. Eyewitnesses reported that Dr Roy also targeted Dr. Biswas’s wife, contributing to the severity of the situation.

This is not the first instance of troubling behavior from Dr Roy. Previously, he had misbehaved with a nurse at the same hospital and engaged in reckless behavior, including driving a vangsur within the hospital premises. Fellow doctors had earlier given Dr Roy a dupuni to evade his disruptive actions.

The attack has created a furore across the region, with the local community and healthcare professionals in shock. Police are currently present at the scene, conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the attack and ensure the safety of the hospital staff and patients.

As the investigation continues, authorities are focusing on understanding the events leading up to this brutal attack and taking necessary measures to prevent further incidents.
